Full job description

Senior Accountant (CPA)
Location: Red Deer, Alberta
Compensation: $70,000 - $100,000
CPA designation required.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare complex compilation and review engagement working papers and financial statements.
Prepare complex personal, corporate, trust, and GST/HST tax returns.
Prepare T4, T5, T3, T5018, and other information returns and slips.
Liaise directly with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regarding reviews, audits, assessments, inquiries, and compliance matters.
Analyze financial information and client accounts, identify issues, and provide practical recommendations and solutions.
Proactively identify risks and challenges, presenting well-considered solutions to Managers and Partners.
Support advisory engagements, including tax planning, estate planning, pipeline transactions, corporate reorganizations, and amalgamations.
Research and interpret tax legislation, accounting standards, and assurance standards.
Mentor, train, and support junior team members.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and client service.

Qualifications

CPA designation required.
Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge.
Ability to manage multiple client engagements independently.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Leadership mindset with experience in training and developing staff.

Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
