Help shape the future of inclusive housing in Canada.

Inclusion Canada is seeking a Policy Analyst, Inclusive Housing to help advance innovative, evidence-informed policies that support the full inclusion of people with an intellectual disability. Working with people with lived experience, governments, researchers, housing developers, community organizations, and our national federation, you'll contribute to policies and programs that transform communities across Canada.

Inclusion Canada leads the way in building an inclusive Canada by strengthening families, defending rights, and transforming communities into places where everyone belongs.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys translating research into action. You'll help shape national conversations about inclusive housing while working in a collaborative, values-driven organization committed to human rights and the movement for inclusion.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Operations & Social Impact, the Policy Analyst will develop evidence-informed policy solutions, build collaborative partnerships across sectors, support national initiatives, and help influence housing policy across Canada. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting research, relationships, and advocacy to create meaningful systems change.

This is a full-time, permanent position open to candidates located anywhere in Canada. Inclusion Canada employs a team that is distributed across Canada, and remote work is possible.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Policy Development

· Conduct research on national and provincial/territorial housing and disability legislation, policy, and programs

· Monitor emerging legislation, policy developments, and promising practices related to inclusive and affordable housing

· Analyze qualitative and quantitative evidence to develop practical policy recommendations

· Translate research and evidence into clear and accessible briefing notes, research papers, fact sheets, and strategic recommendations, consistent with the Organization’s values and key messages

Partnership Development & Engagement

· Build collaborative partnerships with community groups, nonprofits, housing developers, funders, researchers, and government stakeholders

· Perform community-based research engagement including consultations, interviews, field testing, and focus groups

· Provide data and policy information to staff, federation members, and partners that equips effective, impactful positioning and strategic decision-making

· Represent Inclusion Canada at relevant conferences, forums, working groups, and sector events

Project Support

· Provide project management and coordination support to national projects and initiatives, including planning, implementation, evaluation, reporting, and partner relations

· Contribute to cross-organizational initiatives that advance Inclusion Canada's strategic priorities.

Competencies

· A passion for social justice and equity issues

· Ability to conduct comprehensive research and analysis utilizing government, academic, and community sources

· Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into accessible and compelling materials

· Attention to detail, strong follow-through, and the ability to remain organized and responsive to immediate needs while assessing action on long-term strategies

· Strong interpersonal skills, including a collaborative approach and experience working with diverse populations

· Knowledge of the social justice sector, and particularly the disability and/or housing sector

Qualifications

· Post-secondary education in disability studies, public policy, urban planning, social justice, or related field

· Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in research, program development, or public policy within the nonprofit, housing, or government sector

· Demonstrated experience conducting legislative, policy, and/or community-based research

· Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, implementation, evaluation, reporting, and partner relations

· Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with colleagues across Canada

· Ability to travel occasionally for meetings, consultations, conferences, and events

Preferred Qualifications

· Graduate degree in a relevant discipline

· Experience in disability rights, housing policy, accessibility, or social justice

· Knowledge of Canada's housing system, disability policy, and human rights frameworks

· Ability to communicate in both English and French

Anticipated start date: August 2026, with flexibility

Location: National within Canada; remote work possible

Details: 35hrs/week with comprehensive benefits

Salary: $75,000-$85,000 CAD annually, commensurate with experience
