POSITION: Laser/Brake Operator and General Duty
LOCATION: Onsite, 2 Ramm Ave. White City SK
WAGE RANGE: $25.00 to $28.00 hourly, depending on experience.
As a key member of our Fabrication Team, you will play an essential role in producing high‑quality parts through the precise operation of CNC Lasers, CNC/Manual Press Brakes, and supporting fabrication equipment. This position combines technical skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. This position also provides general assistance to all areas of manufacturing.
Your responsibilities:
- Laser Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor CNC laser cutting machines by loading programs, preparing materials, and calibrating equipment to produce accurate, high‑quality parts according to drawings, nests, and tolerance specifications
- Brake Operation: Set up, program, and operate CNC and non‑CNC Press Brakes to bend and perform precise bending and forming of metal parts according to drawings, work orders, and customer specification
- Tooling: Select, install, and verify all required tooling; including brake dies, punches, back gauges, laser lenses, nozzles, and fixtures; ensuring each setup aligns with job requirements, drawings, and set‑up sheets for accurate, efficient production.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine preventative maintenance—including cleaning, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting—while following all shop safety procedures, using required PPE, and maintaining a clean, organized work area to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient machine operation.
- Quality: Inspect materials and finished parts to ensure they meet required tolerances, drawings, and customer specifications, addressing any discrepancies to maintain consistent, high‑quality production.
- General Duty: provide general assistance to all areas of manufacturing, in various production departments and may include but not be limited to assisting with assembly, part marking, operating fabricating equipment, assisting machine operators, using power and hand tools and helping with logistics functions.
What We're Looking For:
- 2 to 3 years’ related CNC Laser and/or Brake Operator experience;
- Ability to use measurement tools (i.e. calipers); read and work with production work orders, blueprints, and diagrams
- Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Forklift and Crane experience is an asset
- A grade twelve diploma or equivalent is a requirement.
- Trades courses, certificate or diploma from a recognized post-secondary school is a significant asset.
- Knowledge of common types of metals and lean manufacturing an asset
