Dakota Dunes Thermal Spa is a world-class destination featuring our NEW one of a kind INDIGENOUS themed THERMAL WATERS SPA that features expansive thermal waters, spa rituals, day spa services, and inspired food & beverage offerings. Our mission is to create an unforgettable guest journey that nurtures wellbeing, connection, and renewal.

Position Overview

The Lead Bartender leads bar operations, beverage development, inventory control, service standards, and bartender coaching for Prairie Rose Kitchen. This position will create a distinctive beverage program that complements the spa’s wellness and social positioning while ensuring responsible, profitable, and consistent service.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, coach, schedule and support Bartenders during assigned operations.
Establish standards for recipes, presentation, responsible service, cleanliness, opening/closing, and guest interaction.
Conduct beverage training and maintain strong product knowledge across alcoholic and non-alcoholic offerings.
Coordinate closely with restaurant and culinary leadership.
Lead daily bar setup, preparation, service, closing, and cleanliness.
Ensure all beverages are prepared consistently according to recipe, presentation, portion, and quality standards.
Monitor responsible alcohol service and ensure provincial requirements and property policies are followed.
Maintain safe, sanitary, organized bar stations and proper storage and rotation of products.
Coordinate beverage timing and service with Servers, Kitchen and Shift Leads.
Handle guest concerns and service recovery within authority.
Manage beverage inventory, ordering, receiving, transfers, counts, waste, breakage, and variance controls.
Monitor beverage cost, pour cost, pricing, sales mix, and product performance.
Maintain accurate POS, discount, void, complimentary, and cash-control practices.
Create memorable beverage experiences that work equally well for both social and wellness-focused guests.
Maintain a strong zero-proof and hydration-oriented offering alongside alcoholic beverages.
Develop seasonal features, pairings, events, and signature experiences in collaboration with culinary and spa teams.
Establish and train on bar SOPs, responsible service procedures, inventory controls, prep standards, and cleaning schedules.
Assist with recruitment and training Bartenders and participate in mock services.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years’ bartending experience in a restaurant or hospitality operations.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
Proven problem solving and teamwork skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Serve It Right Saskatchewan (SIRS) certification is required.
Safe Food Handling Certification is an asset.
WHMIS certification is preferred.
First Aide and CPR certification is an asset.
Minimum 19 years of age.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as required.
