Full job description

The Chef de Partie – Pâtisserie will be responsible for overseeing daily pastry production, maintaining product quality standards, supporting production staff, and ensuring all products are produced efficiently and consistently. This role is ideal for a pastry professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced commercial production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and produce cakes, cheesecakes, pastries, mousses, fillings, glazes, and baked goods according to company recipes and specifications.
Lead assigned production areas and ensure daily production schedules are completed on time.
Monitor product quality, consistency, appearance, and portion control.
Train and mentor pastry assistants and production staff.
Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment.
Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and sanitation standards.
Assist with inventory control and ingredient management.
Support product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Operate commercial bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
Help identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce waste.

QualificationsRequired

5+ years of professional pastry experience.
Experience in a commercial bakery, pastry shop, hotel, or high-volume production environment.
Strong understanding of pastry fundamentals, baking science, and production techniques.
Ability to accurately scale recipes and work with large batch production.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.

Preferred

Culinary or Pastry Arts Diploma.
Experience with wholesale or large-scale production.
Experience producing French pastries, cakes, entremets, and plated desserts.
HACCP or food safety certification.

Ideal Candidate

You are a hands-on pastry professional who takes pride in quality, thrives in a production environment, and enjoys leading by example. You understand that consistency, organization, and teamwork are critical to producing exceptional products every day.

Experience:

Professional Pastry: 3 years (preferred)
Commercial Production Bakery: 2 years (preferred)

Pay: $24.00-$32.00 per hour
