Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and responsible Lifeguard/Instructor to ensure the safety and well-being of all pool visitors and provide swim instruction. This role involves monitoring swimming areas, enforcing safety rules, teaching swim lessons and providing emergency assistance when necessary. The ideal candidate will be passionate about safety, possess strong swimming skills, and be capable of handling physically demanding tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment dedicated to public safety and recreation.

Duties

Constantly monitor swimming areas to prevent accidents and respond promptly to emergencies
Enforce pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe environment for all guests
Perform rescue operations using proper techniques when necessary
Administer first aid and CPR as required, ensuring immediate response to injuries or health issues
Maintain cleanliness and organization of pool decks and surrounding areas
Conduct safety inspections of pool equipment and facilities regularly
Provide excellent customer service by assisting guests with questions or concerns about pool policies
Teaching and facilitating swimming lessons from the Lifesaving Society Swim For Life Program.

Qualifications

Proven swimming ability with proficiency in water rescue techniques
Ability to perform heavy lifting, including moving rescue equipment or assisting injured individuals
National Lifeguard - Pool
Standard First Aid & CPR-C/AED
Swim-for-Life Instructor/Examiner Certification
Strong observational skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to stay alert for extended periods during shifts
Prior experience in lifeguarding/instructor or related safety roles is a plus but not required
Must be at least 16 years old or older

This position offers regular working hours and shifts will have the potential to include early mornings, late-night, weekend shifts. Part-time position works, a minimum of 25 hours per week with the opportunity for more hours and must meet the position availability requirements. Full-time is 38 hours a week.

This position is vital for ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience for all pool visitors. We value proactive individuals committed to safety and service excellence.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $24.24-$29.31 per hour
