Full job description

Are you a skilled communicator with strong classroom management abilities and a commitment to student success? If, so we may have the opportunity for you!

Reporting to the Principal of Continuing Education, the International Language Instructor will have the opportunity to make a positive impact by teaching language skills and celebrating cultural diversity within the community.

WHAT YOU BRING:

Must be fluent in one of the above target languages (or additional language not listed)
Familiarity with language teaching methodologies
Instruction in the target language
Experience working with international languages an asset
Excellent classroom management skills
Experience working with students and knowledge of differentiated instruction

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

Promote program to the community
Conduct student registration
Communicate with parents throughout the length of the program
Teach target language to students at various levels of instruction
Organize lessons and activities
Ensure the safety and well-being of students

PLEASE NOTE:

Not all programs/courses are offered at each site. Site(s) may change based on availability and enrollment
Contingent upon sufficient program(s)/course(s) enrollment
Delivery format may pivot from in-class to virtual (or vice-versa) with short notice, if required.

LOCATION: Locations are dependent on enrolment numbers. To be confirmed, but classes are tentatively scheduled at one of the following locations below:

St. Ann ALC (Niagara Falls – Monday nights and Saturday mornings)
St. John ALC (St. Catharines – Friday nights and Saturday mornings)
Our Lady of Fatima (Grimsby – Saturday mornings)

LANGUAGES: Please indicate on your application the language(s) for which you are applying to:

Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Igbo, Italian, Japanese, Kurdish, Nepali, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Tamil, Ukrainian, Urdu, Yoruba, Kurdish and any Indigenous language

(*If you are fluent in a target language not listed above, please feel free to apply specifying which language you would like to teach for consideration.)

DURATION: One day per week from October 19th, 2026 to May 29th 2027 tentative start and end dates; to

be confirmed)

HOURS PER WEEK: 2.5

RATE OF PAY: 34.52 per hour inclusive of vacation pay and statutory holidays as per the C.U.P.E. Collective Agreement
