Job Overview:

Work is locate to Spruce Grove, AB. Calibre Drilling Ltd. is a privately owned drilling company located in Spruce Grove, Alberta.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Licensed Water Well Driller, Apprentice Water Well Driller or a Geotechnical/Environmental Driller with a valid Class 3 license to join our team in Spruce Grove, Alberta. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with drilling, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety and efficiency on the job site.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain a range of drilling equipment, including water well drilling equipment or auger rig equipment.
Perform drilling operations in a safe and efficient manner
Conduct in situation tests and install monitoring wells, vibrating wires, slope inclinometer casings, and other instrumentation.
Conduct site assessments and ensure proper equipment setup
Lead and collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines and guidelines are met
Maintain a clean and organized worksite
Maintain accurate and detailed daily drilling records, including footage, consumables, and site conditions.
Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on drilling and ancillary equipment (trucks, pumps, generators, etc)
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations
Collaborate effectively with engineers and project managers to meet project objectives.
Accurately complete necessary documentation and reports

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of water well drilling experience and/or geotechnical/environmental drilling experience
Valid Class 3 license with a clean driving record
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment
Strong knowledge of various geotechnical drilling techniques (e.g SPT sampling, hollow-stem, solid-stem, direct push)
Knowledge of well construction, site preparation, and drill rig operation
Commitment to safety and environmental protection
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Certification in First Aid and H2S considered an asset
