GRIT Engineering Inc. provides professional consulting services in site plan development, land development, municipal review, and geotechnical engineering. We are looking for an engineer who is driven to succeed and looking for advancement opportunities as the firm grows. This position is about being part of something, developing a team, and working with a group of strong leaders to create the vision of what success looks like.
In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for geotechnical engineering investigations, materials testing and Excess Soil Management as per O.Reg 406/19. This community leader will also develop their own team and promote the values of GRIT.
Responsibilities
- Prepare preliminary and detailed geotechnical engineering reports with excess soil management recommendations as per O.Reg 406/19.
- Schedule and perform fieldwork and sampling. This includes and not limited to borehole drilling, test pit monitoring, subgrade inspections and well installations.
- Senior inspections for materials testing and support of junior staff.
- Complete laboratory testing and training for junior staff including sieve/hydrometers, Proctors and unit weight testing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Extensive experience authoring geotechnical investigation reports, design recommendations, and technical documentation.
- Experience and aptitude to work with the following software packages: Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Excel.
- Possess strong organizational, oral, written communication, and problem-solving skills; have an approachable enthusiastic interpersonal style.
- Willingness to travel within Ontario.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
