Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cashier and Kitchen Assistant to join the Owner (Chef) to operate our Foodtruck. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting kitchen operations, ensuring a clean and organized workspace, and assisting with food preparation. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and have a knack for customer service.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of food items according to recipes and standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
Support chef by providing necessary ingredients and tools during meal preparation.
Engage with customers to provide excellent service, including upselling menu items when appropriate.
Conduct product demos to showcase new items or specials to customers.
Handle cashier duties as needed, ensuring accurate transactions and providing excellent phone etiquette when taking orders or answering inquiries.
Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently during busy periods.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
Familiarity with retail sales techniques and upselling strategies is advantageous.
Basic knowledge of cashiering procedures is beneficial.
Time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively within the kitchen environment.
Technical sales experience can be an asset when discussing products with customers.
