RJOHNSON Legal Recruitment is partnering with a respected Vancouver-based boutique full service law firm to identify an experienced Commercial Litigation Lawyer to join its growing practice.
This opportunity offers the rare combination of sophisticated litigation work, genuine flexibility, and the ability to work remotely from anywhere in Canada. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team known for delivering exceptional client service and practical legal solutions in complex and high-stakes matters.
The firm's practice includes a broad range of commercial litigation matters, as well as work involving Indigenous and First Nations organizations. Experience in this area is considered an asset, but is not required.
The Opportunity
As a key member of the litigation team, you will manage a diverse portfolio of commercial disputes and work directly with clients on strategic and business-focused solutions. You will have the autonomy to run your own files while benefiting from the support and expertise of experienced colleagues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing commercial litigation files from inception through resolution.
- Conducting legal research and preparing pleadings, applications, briefs, and other court materials.
- Appearing before courts, tribunals, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Advising clients on litigation strategy, risk management, and dispute resolution.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Collaborating with lawyers and clients on complex and challenging matters.
Qualifications
- Member in good standing with a Canadian Law Society.
- Approximately 10 or more years of commercial litigation experience.
- Strong advocacy, drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage files and client relationships.
- Experience working with Indigenous or First Nations organizations is an asset.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a remote environment.
