Night Shift Baker's Assistant

Bomou Bakery is an artisan French bakery located in the Leaside neighbourhood of Toronto (Bayview & Eglinton). We are passionate about producing handcrafted breads and pastries using traditional techniques and premium ingredients. We are currently looking for a dedicated Night Shift Baker's Assistant to join our growing production team.

Responsibilities

As a Night Shift Baker's Assistant, you will work alongside our production team to prepare fresh artisan breads for the next day's service.

Your responsibilities include:

Mixing and preparing dough according to recipes and production schedules
Scaling, shaping, and handling artisan bread dough
Assisting with baking and oven operations
Following food safety and sanitation standards
Maintaining a clean and organized production area
Working efficiently to meet daily production goals
Supporting the bakery team wherever needed

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of professional baking and dough mixing experience (required)
Experience working with artisan or French-style bread is strongly preferred
Baking or culinary education is considered an asset
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team
Reliable, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Schedule Requirements (Please Read Carefully)

This position has fixed scheduling requirements.

Applicants must be able to:

Work night shifts starting at 9:00 PM (non-negotiable)
Work every weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
Work Mondays
Work on public holidays when scheduled

Physical Requirements

This position requires:

Standing and walking throughout the shift
Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 30 kg (66 lbs)
Frequent reaching, bending, lifting, and repetitive hand movements
Working in a fast-paced production environment

Location

This is an in-person position at our bakery located in Leaside (Bayview & Eglinton), Toronto.

Applicants should have reliable transportation and be able to arrive 10–15 minutes before the start of each shift. Please consider your commuting time before applying, as punctuality is essential for our overnight production schedule.
