Reports To: President + Chief Operating Officer
Department: Sales and Marketing
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Greater Toronto Area, with regular client and site travel

Position Summary

The Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for leading Woodfield Fire Protection Inc.’s sales strategy, business development, marketing, client retention, and revenue growth.

The role will focus on expanding recurring inspection, testing, maintenance, and service agreements while developing opportunities for repairs, system upgrades, retrofits, and new construction. The Director will also oversee Woodfield’s brand, digital presence, marketing campaigns, communications, and lead-generation activities.

This is a senior leadership position requiring a commercially focused individual who can build strong client relationships, develop a disciplined sales pipeline, strengthen Woodfield’s market presence, protect margins, and ensure a smooth transition from sale to project execution.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales and Business Development

Develop and execute Woodfield’s annual sales and business-development strategy.
Establish revenue, gross-profit, client-retention, and new-business targets.
Grow recurring inspection, testing, maintenance, and service-agreement revenue.
Identify opportunities for repairs, system upgrades, retrofits, and new fire-protection installations.
Expand existing client relationships through account management and cross-selling.
Develop relationships with property managers, building owners, general contractors, developers, consultants, and facility operators.
Lead the preparation and presentation of proposals, tenders, service agreements, and negotiated opportunities.
Work with estimating and operations to confirm that pricing, scope, schedule, and labour requirements are commercially and operationally sound.
Review contract terms, exclusions, payment conditions, insurance requirements, and commercial risks before commitments are made.
Lead major client meetings, presentations, negotiations, and contract renewals.
Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, follow-up schedule, opportunity register, and revenue forecast.
Implement and maintain consistent CRM and sales-reporting practices.
Create a structured handoff process from sales to estimating, service, project management, and operations.
Ensure client commitments are properly documented and communicated before work begins.
Support the resolution of significant client concerns and protect long-term relationships.

Marketing and Brand Development

Develop and execute Woodfield’s annual marketing and communications plan.
Strengthen and maintain Woodfield’s brand identity, positioning, and market presence.
Oversee the company’s website, social media, digital advertising, email marketing, and online business listings.
Develop marketing campaigns that generate qualified leads for inspection, service, repair, retrofit, and construction opportunities.
Create and maintain professional sales materials, capability statements, presentations, brochures, proposal templates, case studies, and client communications.
Promote Woodfield’s experience, technical capabilities, project successes, and service offerings.
Coordinate photography, project profiles, client testimonials, and other marketing content.
Plan and manage participation in trade shows, industry events, association meetings, sponsorships, and client functions.
Maintain consistent branding across proposals, vehicles, uniforms, signage, digital platforms, and promotional materials.
Manage relationships with external marketing agencies, designers, photographers, printers, and other service providers.
Monitor marketing performance, lead sources, campaign results, website activity, and return on investment.
Conduct market research and monitor competitors, pricing trends, customer needs, and emerging opportunities.
Work with leadership and Human Resources on recruitment marketing and employer-branding initiatives when required.

Leadership and Reporting

Recruit, lead, coach, and develop sales and marketing personnel as the department grows.
Establish clear goals, responsibilities, and performance expectations for the department.
Prepare regular sales, pipeline, marketing, and forecast reports for senior leadership.
Develop and manage the annual sales and marketing budget.
Ensure sales and marketing expenditures are aligned with measurable business objectives.
Collaborate closely with estimating, operations, service, finance, and administration.
Represent Woodfield professionally at client meetings, industry events, and community functions.
Maintain high standards of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and accountability.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum seven years of progressive sales, business-development, marketing, or account-management experience.
Previous leadership experience in fire protection, mechanical contracting, construction, building services, life safety, or a related technical industry is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success developing new business and managing major client accounts.
Experience growing recurring service or maintenance-agreement revenue is an asset.
Experience developing and implementing marketing campaigns and lead-generation strategies.
Strong understanding of estimating, gross margin, contract terms, and commercial risk.
Ability to understand proposals, specifications, drawings, scopes of work, and tender documents.
Familiarity with Ontario fire-protection requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards is an asset.
Strong negotiation, presentation, writing, communication, and relationship-management skills.
Proven ability to manage a sales pipeline and produce reliable forecasts.
Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft 365, digital marketing tools, and reporting systems.
Valid Ontario driver’s licence and ability to travel to client locations and project sites.
