Rope Access Technician – Casual / On-Calll
RAM is seeking IRATA-certified Rope Access Technicians to join our casual / on-call labour pool for project work throughout Toronto and the GTA.
This position is intended for technicians looking for flexible work on an as-needed basis. Hours and schedules will vary depending on project requirements, with opportunities ranging from single-day and short-duration assignments to longer project coverage when available.
About the Project Work
RAM performs a wide range of rope access construction, maintenance, repair, installation, inspection and support work across commercial and industrial sites.
Casual technicians may be called upon to support smaller projects, short-notice requirements, schedule coverage, shutdowns and other impromptu work as opportunities arise.
We are looking for technicians who can maintain reasonable flexibility and who are comfortable being contacted as work becomes available. There is no guarantee of consistent weekly hours, but strong performers may be offered additional work as project requirements develop.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow all Company Policies, Procedures and Instructions, including health and safety requirements.
- Perform rope access construction, maintenance, repair, installation and inspection work.
- Prepare work areas, materials and equipment.
- Use hand tools, power tools, fall protection equipment and rope access / rigging equipment as required.
- Support commercial and industrial maintenance, repairs, installations and general construction.
- Assist with concrete repairs, coatings, sealing, mechanical work, inspections and related scopes where applicable.
- Maintain appropriate PPE and ensure the operational safety of personal equipment.
- Maintain awareness of dropped-object hazards, weather conditions, public exposure and site-specific controls.
- Work effectively with Project Coordinators, Site Supervisors and site crews to ensure scopes are completed safely and to a high standard.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Current IRATA Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 certification
- Rope Access Experience: 1-3 years preferred
- Construction Experience: 1-3 years preferred
- Working at Heights, WHMIS and Worker Awareness
- Canadian residency with a Social Insurance Number OR a current valid work permit
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to project locations
- Ability to accept work on a flexible / as-needed basis
- Willingness to support short-duration, short-notice and variable project schedules
- Level 2 and Level 3 technicians are strongly encouraged to apply

Be capable of functioning in climatic extremes; working under pressure; handling heavy loads; physically demanding work; attention to detail; good hand-eye coordination; sitting, standing and walking; bending, crouching and kneeling; and working safely at height.

- Swing Stage / Suspended Access Experience
- Concrete Remediation / Commercial Concrete Experience
- Previous Rescue Experience
- Hoisting and Rigging Experience & Tickets
- High-rise or industrial project experience
