WHAT ON EARTH IS DECIEM?
We are a collective of disrupters and doers, of creatives and scientists, with a mission to reimagine the world of beauty.
Since inception, our vertically integrated structure, including our own laboratories, manufacturing, retail stores, and brand infrastructure, have enabled us to rapidly identify opportunities and deliver quality. Home to The Ordinary, NIOD, AVESTAN, and other emerging brands, our goal is to create with purpose. We were founded on the principle of doing everything that others don’t. Because normal gets you nowhere.
We are DECIEM, The Abnormal Beauty Company.
We are growing rapidly and we’re looking for someone who shares this vision and wants to grow with us!
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Indirect Procurement Manager role will help shape and lead DECIEM’s critical integration activities for Indirect Procurement, aligning our operations with the broader ways of working of our parent company, The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC). This role will own strategic elements of the transition process—working across regions and business units to seamlessly bridge DECIEM’s current procurement landscape with ELC’s target operating model. The incumbent will partner closely with global cross-functional teams including Finance, IT, HR, Marketing, Facilities, and the broader ELC procurement integration teams.
The core function involves conducting deep-dive gap analyses to develop a strategic runway plan that aligns ways of working, KPIs, and compliance. The role also drives enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, mitigates business risk by engineering new processes where operational differences are stark, and fosters global alignment across business activities while leading a dedicated procurement team.
This is a 12-month contract position that is based out of our Head Office located in Liberty Village, Toronto. This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
PAY RANGE
The anticipated base salary for this position is $90,000 to $105,000.
Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.
WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE
-
Own and establish the strategic "runway plan" for DECIEM’s Indirect Procurement integration into The Estée Lauder Companies, serving as the primary subject matter expert for the transition.
-
Lead integration activities across all global regions and diverse business units: map the current state of DECIEM’s indirect procurement operations and identify gaps or differences in ways of working compared to ELC standards.
-
Act as the strategic gatekeeper between DECIEM stakeholders and ELC procurement teams, ensuring that the adoption of new standards, KPIs, and compliance frameworks supports our agile business model.
-
Critically evaluate all proposed ELC integrations to identify if differences are stark enough to pose a business risk or disrupt DECIEM's day-to-day operations.
-
Take ownership of designing, documenting, and implementing alternative or customized operational processes to bridge specific gaps, ensuring absolute business continuity while maintaining overall corporate compliance.
-
Drive timely decision-making and milestone delivery through strong cross-functional relationships, ensuring that risk mitigation strategies are seamlessly integrated into the overarching transition plan.
-
Lead, manage, and mentor a team of indirect procurement professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement during a period of significant organizational change.
-
Champion the integration process as a primary change agent, guiding internal teams and stakeholders through new systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba), policies, and evolving mindsets.
-
Provide ongoing strategic oversight of the integration progress: analyze performance metrics, provide regular dashboards, and escalate risk assessments to senior leadership to ensure visibility and alignment.
-
Own master transition resources, including gap analysis trackers, process mapping files, and integration milestone libraries; serve as the global point of contact for integration data and strategic requests.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
-
6+ years experience in Indirect Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Supply Chain Operations, ideally with a background in M&A integration, post-merger transitions, or large-scale process transformation.
-
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and inspire a team, foster collaboration, and mentor rising talent through complex organizational changes.
-
Deep understanding of top-tier ERP and Procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Coupa).
-
Confident public speaker and presenter of ideas in both large and small, casual and formal settings
-
Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to conduct complex gap analyses, evaluate business risks, and make data-driven decisions to engineer new operational processes
