About the Opportunity
- Provide technical evaluations, advice, and solutions across multiple work areas.
- Identify potential problems and opportunities, assess options, and recommend disposition.
- Prepare submissions including cost justification, financial evaluation, and technical documentation.
- Develop specifications, engineering calculations, installation, testing, and maintenance procedures.
- Ensure proposals and installations meet intended design and operational requirements.
- Deliver training, lectures, and field instruction to staff as needed.
- Maintain awareness of operating and maintenance issues, implementing improvements where appropriate.
- Collaborate with external organizations and vendors to arrange tests and provide documentation.
- Keep abreast of new developments and incorporate them into equipment or operations.
- Develop and update operating procedures consistent with safety, efficiency, and compliance standards.
- Prepare reports, studies, and investigations to support improvements and provide historical data.
- Review proposals from internal and external sources, recommending changes or adoption.
- Support procurement activities, including specifications, requisitions, and installation oversight.
- Recommend spare parts requirements and research programs to improve reliability and performance.
- Contribute to departmental budget preparation and variance monitoring.
- Periodically supervise staff, assigning and reviewing work, and providing guidance.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
- 6–8 years of experience in engineering roles related to facility design, commissioning, operation, or maintenance.
- Strong background in industrial systems, equipment performance, and technical problem?solving.
- Experience in nuclear or highly regulated industrial environments is an asset.
- Proven ability to evaluate components, materials, and processes, and perform economic and technical studies.
- Skilled in preparing clear, concise reports, recommendations, and technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross?functional teams and external organizations.
- Experience supervising staff and providing technical guidance.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement in engineering practices.
Pay Range
$74.30 - $74.31/hr
