Server Assistant
ANIML | Toronto, ON | Full-Time, Part-Time

ANIML is INK Entertainment’s new steakhouse experience hidden in the heart of King Street West. ANIML is a nouveau steakhouse offering modern renditions of classic dishes where aesthetic meats meet audacious luxury. Everything is within reach—from delicate buttery fish from the farthest Patagonian region to selected meats from the Canadian prairies to beer-fed cattle from Japan.

We are looking for a Server Assistant who brings energy, high standards, and a passion for fine dining to our floor.
Whether you are looking for full-time, part-time, or co-op opportunities, this role offers a hands-on path to refine your skills and grow within a cutting-edge culinary concept.

As a Server Assistant at ANIML, you are a vital link in delivering a seamless, high-end dining experience.
Working closely with our kitchen line, floor servers, and management, you will focus on active expediting, precision food delivery, and meticulous table maintenance. Your attention to detail, knowledge of our premier menu items, and proactive teamwork will ensure every guest enjoys an unforgettable, high-touch meal from first bite to last.

What You'll Do:

Food Expediting & Precision Delivery

Deliver dishes accurately to guests based on pivot point seating, presenting every plate with care.
Confidently describe menu items, highlighting premium ingredients, preparations, and dietary or allergy restrictions.
Inspect plates prior to delivery to ensure flawless garnishing, plating standards, and proper serving utensils.
Ensure tables are set with proper silverware, condiments, and accompaniments before courses arrive.
Communicate guest feedback, order timing, and special requests promptly to servers and managers.

Dining Room & Expediting Operations

Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked expediting stations, prep surfaces, shelves, and trays.
Assist with table setups, active table grooming, clearing used dishes, and resetting tables according to ANIML standards.
Keep service areas stocked with polished china, glassware, utensils, and service equipment.
Support kitchen efficiency by executing runner side-duty checklists throughout the shift.
Assist with basic food prep or line support when necessary.

Operational Excellence & Teamwork

Complete opening, running, and closing duties, including restocking and end-of-shift organization.
Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and sophisticated manner.
Maintain clear communication and collaborate effectively with line cooks, bussers, servers, and supervisors.
Perform additional operational duties as assigned by venue management.

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for a detail-oriented, hospitality-minded team player who thrives in a fast-paced, high-end environment.
You bring:

Certification: Valid Smart Serve Certification is required; Food Handler Certification is an asset.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of customer service experience required; previous support staff or food runner experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or cocktail bar is strongly preferred.
Product Knowledge: Familiarity with fine dining service standards and a working knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and premium ingredients.
Service Mindset: Strong communication skills, a passion for luxury hospitality, and a positive team attitude.
Agility & Composure: Ability to perform high-quality work independently, balance multiple priorities, and work under pressure.
Physical Capability: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, and lift, balance, and carry food trays weighing up to 25 pounds.
Flexibility: Open availability with a flexible schedule to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Commute: Ability to reliably commute to King Street West (Toronto, ON).
