Full job description

Position: Front of House Manager

Vacancy: 1

Working Hours: 30 hrs per week

Work Shift: It can be daytime, evening, weekends and/or holidays

Wage: $38.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Located in Vancouver’s historic Yaletown neighbourhood, The Parlour is a place of convergence for East Coast edge and West Coast hospitality. We pair innovative cocktails, craft-brewed beers and quality wines with an inventive menu featuring handcrafted pizzas and an elegant twist on authentic comfort cuisine. To maintain our service standard, we are currently hiring a full time Cook to join our team!

Main duties

Oversee the daily operations of the front-of-house area, including guest service, reservations, seating, and dining room operations
Supervise, coordinate, and schedule front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, bartenders, and support staff
Train and coach employees on customer service standards, restaurant procedures, and workplace policies
Monitor service quality and ensure guests receive professional, efficient, and welcoming service
Address customer concerns, resolve complaints, and ensure appropriate follow-up
Coordinate front-of-house operations with kitchen and management staff to maintain efficient service
Monitor staffing levels, workflow, and service performance to ensure smooth restaurant operations
Assist with inventory management, ordering, and control of front-of-house supplies
Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and liquor service regulations
Assist with hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary matters for front-of-house employees
Prepare and maintain staff schedules, daily reports, and other operational records
Support management with implementing policies, promotions, special events, and initiatives to improve customer experience and restaurant performance

Employment Requirements

Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management is usually required
Several years of experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience, are required
