Full job description

Job Overview

We are looking for a Accounting & Administrative Clerk to join our team in Windsor, NS. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, along with strong administrative, organizational and computer skills. This position will support both our accounting functions and the day-to-day administrative needs of the office.

Duties

Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable procedures using QuickBooks
Preparing monthly Accounts Receivable statements and collections
Ensuring payables are processed and paid in a timely manner
Posting journal entries
Reconciling accounts
Entering and updating customer and vendor account information
General data entry and record keeping
Answering and directing phone calls and emails
Organizing, filing and maintaining office documents and records
Preparing correspondence, reports and other documents as required
Providing general administrative support to management and staff
Assisting the sales team with administrative tasks when needed
Other accounting and office duties as assigned

Skills and Competencies

Strong computer skills with above-average data entry abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
Ability to problem-solve and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Positive, motivated and dependable self-starter
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with QuickBooks is an asset
Previous administrative or office experience is an asset
Post-secondary education in accounting, business administration, office administration, or equivalent experience is an asset
