Crawford, Mill & Davies is a well-established law firm serving Huron, Bruce, Perth and surrounding counties. We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Real Estate Law Clerk to join our team in our Wingham office.
We are prepared to consider flexible employment arrangements, including full-time, part-time, contract, and fixed-term arrangements for the right candidate. The successful candidate will become an important member of our real estate team and will work closely with lawyers, clients, financial institutions, municipalities, and other professionals to complete residential and commercial real estate transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct title and off-title searches
- Prepare, organize, and complete residential and commercial real estate transactions from opening to closing
- Prepare correspondence, requisitions, registrations, authorizations, directions, reporting letters, and closing documentation
- Communicate with clients, lenders, municipalities, real estate agents, and opposing counsel
- Manage and organize client files and maintain accurate electronic and physical records
- Assist lawyers and staff with file management and administrative support
- Utilize legal and real estate software to maintain and retrieve files and documents
- Perform a variety of clerical tasks, including filing, data entry, and proofreading
Qualifications and Skills
- Law Clerk diploma or related post-secondary education preferred
- Experience in Ontario real estate law strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Teraview, Unity, Conveyancer, PC Law, Soluno, Microsoft Office, or similar software is considered an asset
- Strong clerical, organizational, and file management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize workloads and manage multiple deadlines
- Professional attitude and strong client service skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Education
- Secondary School (preferred)
- Post-secondary education in a legal or related field preferred
Experience
- Real Estate Law Clerk or Legal Assistant: 1 year preferred
