From pitching original story ideas and covering breaking news to developing multi-platform content and supporting Nation to Nation, you’ll help shape meaningful conversations and deliver impactful reporting across platforms. Highlights of this opportunity:

Be part of one of Canada's Top 100 Employers and the team behind the 2026 Canadian Screen Award-winning Best National Newscast;
Assisting Nation to Nation;
Initiate, research, and pitch original story ideas on a daily basis;
Write and develop approved stories for multi-platform use, ensuring accuracy and editorial quality;
Cover breaking news by evaluating leads, interviewing sources, and assessing relevance for target audiences;
Prepare scripts and story packages, including recommending visuals and collaborating with the team to finalize content.

Your accomplishments and experience include:

A degree/diploma in journalism or related field with proven experience related to journalism;
Knowledge of content management systems, Canadian Press News Style, writing headlines and copy editing (web team);
A strong ability to articulate and effectively communicate issues relevant to Indigenous communities;
Strong computer skills and knowledge of broadcast technology.
