When water strikes, we fight back!
At On Side, our Water Damage Technicians are the calm in the storm—literally. From burst pipes to sewer surprises, you’ll be the first responder who turns chaos into clean, dry order.

You’ll work hands-on to remove water, set up drying equipment, and help restore homes and businesses to their pre-disaster state. Empathy and urgency are key, you’re not just fixing spaces, you’re helping people through one of their most stressful moments.

Compensation

Salary Range: $21-$23/hour
Overtime opportunities (where applicable)
On-call premium and overtime paid for rotating coverage

What You’ll Do

Perform demolition of affected structures and materials
Set up and monitor drying equipment
Clean and restore areas impacted by water-related disasters
Complete restoration tasks
Support emergency mitigation efforts as needed including contents cleaning

What You Bring

Mechanical aptitude— you can look at something and just know how it works
Demolition experience- careful, mindful, good housekeeping
Detail oriented and curious
Organized with a good sense of time— you’re rarely late and know where all your tools are
Physically fit— water damage can, at times, include heavy lifting and getting into (and out of) tight places
Tech savviness (capability to learn applications and computer programs as required)
Interest in cross training in Contents Cleaning, Emergency, and helping all teams
Willing to wear the PPE that is provided for the job, including being clean shaven (if applicable) for half and full-face masks
Friendly and enjoys working in a team!
A safety-first mindset
Valid driver’s licence & clean drivers abstract
Able to successfully satisfy On Side’s criminal record check requirements
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.

Are you able to work a Rotating On-Call Schedule (Responding to emergency calls after business hours)? This is additional to scheduled daytime hours as per the schedule. Premium and overtime are paid.

Restoration work requires documentation and tracking throughout your workday. Do you have basic computer and/or tablet/iPad experience? Are you comfortable operating a phone to navigate through applications and record info as instructed?
This role requires frequent bending, crouching, reaching, kneeling, and lifting 50+ lbs. Please describe your ability to meet these demands and your experience working safely with heavy lifting.

Do you have restoration industry experience working with water damage and drying machines or are you mechanically inclined and able to learn the job? Tell us why you would be the best person for this job.
Cross training and helping other team members is required for this role. Successful candidates will be trained in Demolition and Contents. Are you able and willing to train and work in other roles?
Are you able to be flexible with your hours and stay a bit later to finish tasks when required?
Do you have any experience with demolition? If yes, please describe what you have demolished and tools you have used.
