Summary: Counsellors are responsible for the direct care, supervision, and engagement of campers throughout all daily routines and programming. Counsellors support personal care, behaviour management, inclusion, and camper well-being while fostering a positive cabin environment.
This is a live-in position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care support including hygiene, dressing, feeding, toileting, and mobility
- Supervise campers at all times and ensure safety (including during transportation to and from camp)
- Support positive behaviour using approved strategies
- Engage campers in all programming and daily activities
- Maintain clean and organized cabin spaces
- Complete required documentation and reports
- Participate in training, meetings, and staff duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Assets:
- Experience working with people with disabilities
- Experience providing personal care, behaviour management, or leading activities
- Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL)
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification
