Full job description

The American is looking for line cooks to join our team. We are a dynamic, pub, music venue & event space on Main Street at the edge of chinatown. Menu will consist of classic pub fare as well as other handhelds and bar snacks with a focus on freshness, simplicity and quality.

The ideal candidate will be respectful and organized with a positive attitude and willingness to take direction. An attention to detail must also be demonstrated in order to create a consistent product. Ability to communicate eﬀectively within the team is also expected to optimize workflow.

Duties will consist of but are not limited to:

proper setup maintaining and break down of stations
operation of grills, flattops, deep fryers & other hot & cold stations
assembling various sandwiches, entrees, appetizers and other bar snacks
cutting, slicing, and prepping, using manual & motorized tools
preparing sauces, dips, pickles & other items from recipes
portioning & scaling ingredients
stock rotation and labeling
daily cleaning, dishwashing, sanitizing & logging temperatures as per BC Foodsafe guidelines.
