Full job description

Job Overview

The North Okanagan Hospice Society is seeking a motivated and creative Summer Student in Marketing & Community Engagement. This paid internship offers an excellent opportunity for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in digital marketing, community outreach, and nonprofit communications. The role involves supporting the organization’s marketing initiatives to raise awareness, foster community relationships, and promote hospice services through various digital platforms and campaigns. This will include attending markets with an info table and being at info tables at local shops to talk about hospice services with community.

Duties

Assist in digital marketing and social media across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, and email marketing tools.
Support the organization’s website using WordPress and basic HTML skills.
Contribute to content creation using Canva for graphics, videos, and promo
Collaborate with team members on community outreach initiatives
Create a project designed by you (with our support)

Experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for content creation and community engagement.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Prior experience with social media management or nonprofit organizations is a plus but not required.

This internship provides valuable experience in digital marketing within the healthcare nonprofit sector while supporting a meaningful community cause.

for the Canada Summer Jobs, you must be bettwen 16-29, legally allowed to work in Canada, Canadian Citizen/PR/refugee, International Students NOT eligible.

Pay: $18.50 per hour
