Production Supervisor: Norwich Location

Schep’s Bakeries LTD

Schep’s Bakeries LTD is a family-owned and operated company, and we are expanding! We are seeking a motivated, hands-on leader to supervise our production lines and support daily bakery operations.

Position Summary

The Production Line Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production line performance, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, and leading employees to meet productivity, quality, and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and a hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities

Effectively manage employees and ensure smooth operation of production lines
Supervise all aspects of line performance, including daily operations
Assist Line Operators as needed
Assist Dough Setter as required (may be full-day support on some days and intermittent on others)
Control costs and minimize scrap and production waste
Communicate production issues, concerns, and updates to management
Focus on continuous improvement by maximizing productivity and reducing waste and inefficiencies in machinery and processes
Perform all other duties as assigned

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with mechanical aptitude
Ability to adapt to multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Hands-on, proactive, and willing attitude
Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative
Strong interpersonal skills to maintain positive employee relations
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support a team
Dedicated, energetic, and reliable

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods
Regular climbing, reaching, bending, and repetitive movements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Use of a computer keyboard and monitor for more than 15% of the workday
Ability to consistently start early hours

Work Environment

Frequent work near moving mechanical parts
Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, wet or humid environments, fumes, and airborne particles
Moderate to loud noise levels in production areas
Earplugs are available and recommended while working in the bakery
