SALARY RANGE: $113,580 – $134,734
Reporting to the Director, IT & EMR Integration the Manager, Application & Solution Services is responsible for a broad range of Information Technology (IT) services and functions (i.e. EMR, etc.) across Brightshores Health System and its partner organizations. The Manager, will plan, coordinate, direct and design Information Technology and application related activities of the organization(s), as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department. The Manager, will also work closely with decision makers in other departments and organizations to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization(s). Additionally, the Manager will focus on software lifecycle management and solution development to ensure successful integration of applications and systems across all platforms.
The Manager, Application & Solution Services will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to guide and assist user groups on issues related to the design, development, deployment and training of mission-critical information and software systems. In partnership with hospital’s clinical and administrative areas, the Manager, Application & Solution Services will determine the needs for clinical applications within GBIN and its partners. Based on these requirements, the Manager, Application & Solution Services will be accountable for designing and building effective solutions that seamlessly integrates with multiple systems to optimize the usage of clinical systems.
The Manager, Application & Solution Services will provide client support related to applications and solution development for multiple projects across partner organization(s), regional and provincial projects. Additional responsibilities include supervision and maintenance of the organization’s repository of software applications and business intelligence development through best practices. The Manager, Application & Solution Services will ensure the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization(s) within the GBIN (Georgian Bay Information Network) partnership; Brightshores Health System, Hanover and District Hospital (HDH), Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital (OSMH), Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) and SBGHC (South Bruce Grey Health Centre) & Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA).
Qualifications
Required
- University degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or a related discipline
- ITIL Practitioner or Service Manager Certification
- Five to seven (5-7) years of experience managing computer applications programs in an information technology environment, including two years of direct supervisory experience
- Knowledge of current customer service practices and principles and demonstrated leadership ability to co-ordinate, plan, implement and evaluate programs for customer service satisfaction
- Knowledge of testing and release management experience
- Knowledge of database development and database administration
- Ability to incorporate the organization’s core competencies into day-to-day operations including customer service, communication, teamwork, initiative/self-management, accountability and flexibility/adaptability
- Proven management competencies including being results/achievement focused; experienced in human resources management, leadership, financial management, business planning and decision making/judgement; demonstrates professionalism and job knowledge
- Demonstrated project management, leadership, mediation, investigative, report writing/editing, research and presentation skills
- Experience working with Cerner and/or other ERP/IT systems related to healthcare
- Computer literacy in applicable Microsoft Office applications including Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and internet
- Ability to exercise appropriate judgement and discretion in dealing with confidential and/or potentially controversial information
- Ability to think strategically and to translate high-level strategic plans into workable tactical solutions
- Excellent ability to translate technical terminology for consumption by non-technical audiences
- Ability to negotiate with vendors and service providers
- Strong competency in mapping real-life hospital-wide practices to informatics applications
- In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
- Ability to work outside normal hours as required
- Available for regular assignment of Hospital Administrator on-call responsibilities (assigned on a rotating basis to cover evenings and weekends)
