GENERAL
Actively participate as directed in the day-to-day activities of maintenance operations including but not limited to:
o Become familiar with and consistently abide by all company policies and procedures.
o Perform the assigned duties and responsibilities in a diligent and workmanlike manner in keeping with company standards and the specific defined scope of work for each property serviced.
o Be a champion for excellence, seeking improvements to systems, operations, and procedures that lead to improved performance and effectiveness of the organization.
o Complete and record accurate work orders, log sheets, and other documentation in accordance with company procedures, to be processed and stored in a timely and orderly manner.
o Minimize risk exposure.
o Ensure timely reporting and correction of all safety related incidents and violations.
o Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and reporting requirements.
o Ensure proper digital photographs obtained before and after completion of each work site.
o Performs shop/yard maintenance and cleaning tasks as determined via schedules.
o Cleans out work vehicles at the end of each day to ensure ongoing cleanliness.
o Maintain cleanliness of tools and equipment, ensuring they remain operational and in good repair, and are organized and put away at the end of each work day.
o Other duties as assigned/required.
JOB RELATED DUTIES
o Ongoing Training, Coaching, and Mentoring of laborers.
o Lead by example, clarifying expectations from the outset, mobilizing crew members in a timely and efficient manner, and setting the pace for the duration of the workday.
o Upholding company Quality Control Standards Conduction Thorough Property Inspections
o Ensure consistent compliance with company standards regarding appearance, attire, and conduct of maintenance personnel.
o Identify and address quality control issues.
o Inspect what you expect, monitoring the work of the team members, guiding, and mentoring in a clear and supportive manner, and taking appropriate corrective action wherever necessary.
o Address training needs and fulfill training gaps as required.
o Acts as a support system to help the crews excel to the best of their abilities by making sure they receive the information and training required for success.
o Supporting your crews and working alongside them when staff shortages require you to do so.
o Communicating with management to improve and increase productivity, safety, and aid in creating a positive work environment.
o Observe crew members, build relationships and utilize individuals to the best of their ability.
GROUNDSKEEPING
o Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls, under the direction of the Grounds keeping Supervisor/Crew lead.
o Mow and edge lawns
o Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners or chain saws.
o Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and bush trimmers, and axes.
SNOW AND ICE
o Performs ice control measures under the direction of the Grounds keeping Supervisor/Crew Lead and Operations Manager by scraping, chipping, and subsequently applying salt and/or gravel to problem areas as required.
o Thoroughly clears snow from sidewalks, walkways, and driveways using blowers, shovels, sweepers, or a combination thereof.
o Prepares areas for the usage of large equipment by clearing snow away from vehicles, garage doors, and other obstacles as required.
LARGE ITEMS/ABANDONED GOODS AND GARBAGE
o Remove any and all abandoned large items and garbage from job site and dispose of at city landfill as contracted.

o Knowledge of powered equipment operation: Mowers, tractors, Twin-axle vehicle, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, pruning saws, snow blowers, blow packs, sweepers, gas trimmers.
o Skills/Attributes: honest, responsible, reliable, punctual, detail oriented, sense of urgency, ability to work at a quick pace.
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
o Protective or Safety Equipment: Steel toed work boots, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, high visibility vest (company provided).
o Cold weather clothing, as required: toque, ear covers, balaclava, etc.
o Warm weather clothing, as required: Hat, sunscreen, insect repellent.
o Cell phone
WORKING CONDITIONS:
o Employee is on call 7 days a week to respond to any and all snow events during the winter season.
o Employee will be outdoors 90% of the time, exposed to inclement weather for long periods of time. Some exposure to very hot or very cold temperatures.
o Performing general physical activities – activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and moving of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 50.0 per week
