The Shipper & Receiver reports directly to the Shipping Supervisor and is responsible for the accuracy of picking, packing, and loading orders for shipments. The Shipper is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area. This position will receive incoming freight, put away stock, and assist with cleaning and organizing the warehouse and yard. Finally, this position is required to work in all weather conditions.
This position will work Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Job Duties
- Read, understand, and use RF scanner to pick orders
- Pick orders safely and accurately to load onto trucks
- Work with team members to ensure high efficiency
- Offload trucks, vans, and flatbeds
- Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries
- Use a forklift daily and maintain your forklift for high productivity
- Use a reach truck daily and maintain your reach truck for high productivity
- Communicate with contractors, vendors, and drivers.
- Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking.
- Report discrepancies to immediate supervisor
- Follow current standards and procedures
- Inventory control and cycle counting
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Highschool diploma or GED.
- Forklift experience required.
- Reach truck experience required.
- Experience preferred with RF scanning system.
- Read and understand imperial measurements.
- 1 or more years in a shipping environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to identify issues and find solutions to overcome them.
- Clear and solid understanding of policies, practices, and procedures.
- Effective attention to detail and accuracy.
Working Conditions
- Ability to drive forklifts
- Ability to drive reach trucks
- Able to lift heavy objects.
- Ability to stand, bend, crouch for long periods of time.
- Interact with employees, and management.
- Work in all weather.
- Overtime may be required.
