About the Role:
In this client-facing position, you will support individuals facing significant socio-economic challenges, including newcomers, people experiencing homelessness, and those seeking stability in employment, housing, financial support, and food security. Your work will empower individuals as they navigate these obstacles, connecting them with the right resources and guiding them toward a brighter future through Ve’ahavta’s programs.
Ve’ahavta’s programs are designed to provide essential support through skills development, job readiness training, and access to a strong network of community resources. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in assessing, selecting, and preparing candidates as they enter into our life-changing social service programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Outreach & Community Engagement: Lead strategic outreach initiatives and build strong partnerships within the community to attract eligible participants to our programs. Your efforts will directly contribute to increasing accessibility to vital services and resources.
- Client Screening & Intake: Conduct thoughtful client screenings, intake interviews, and eligibility assessments to ensure participants are a great fit for the program. Provide appropriate referrals to ensure they receive the comprehensive support they need.
- Building Relationships: Establish and maintain strong connections with community organizations and referral partners to enhance recruitment and create a broader network of support for participants.
- Administrative Support: Manage participant records, track enrollment data, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth communication and successful program execution.
- Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or certificate in social services/sciences, or its equivalent with specialized training, and or program delivery experience
- 1-2 years of proven experience in a social service environment working with marginalized and vulnerable populations (individuals with addiction/mental health issues)
- Knowledge of GTA social services related to Ve’ahavta’s mission
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience regarding program marketing, client recruitment and intake
- Exceptional interviewing skills with an ability to identify clients’ strengths and needs
- Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills, including excellent presentation skills, with the ability to manage sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy
- Highly organized, with excellent time management skills, initiates and follows-up on actions
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and activities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
Additional Information:
All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Annual Salary: $52,000- $56,000
