Job Summary
The AZ Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of products along established routes. This role includes accurate recording of delivery information, proper handling of documentation, and ensuring all deliveries are completed in compliance with company policies and applicable Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations.
The Delivery Driver is expected to always operate delivery vehicles safely, adhere to all traffic laws, and maintain a professional and customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Operations
- Deliver preloaded products to established customer locations and/or warehouses.
- Complete day routes and, when required, overnight routes.
- Safely unload products using appropriate equipment (e.g., dollies, lifts, and other material handling tools).
- Ensure all products are delivered accurately, in good condition, and in a timely manner.
Documentation & Reporting
- Record delivery information including pickups, deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and any issues encountered.
- Maintain accurate logs of hours of service, vehicle inspections, and delivery documentation in compliance with MTO regulations.
- Verify that all load-related paperwork is complete and accurate prior to departure and upon completion of deliveries.
- Complete all required end-of-shift documentation (e.g., delivery receipts, inspection logs, daily logs).
Vehicle Operation & Safety
- Conduct thorough pre-trip, on-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Operate delivery vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage immediately.
- Ensure cargo is properly always secured during transport.
Customer & Communication
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and co-workers in both verbal and written form.
- Deliver products and documentation in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
- Provide feedback to management regarding customer concerns, mechanical issues, or delivery challenges.
- Maintain a professional and mature demeanor, particularly in high-pressure situations.
Additional Duties
- May be required to support other operational areas such as distribution centre work or shunting as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Class “AZ” license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Clear criminal background check.
- Minimum ability to operate commercial delivery vehicles safely and confidently.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; self-directed and reliable.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent physical activity includes unloading and moving products to customer storage/freezers.
- May be required to work in cold environments (down to -25°C) for short periods.
- Fast-paced, time-sensitive work environment.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required in accordance with MTO regulations and operational needs.

Compensation
At Chapman’s, compensation is guided by a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes and rewards individual contributions.
Wages
$1400 per week, based on 44-hour per week
