We're Hiring Casual Residential Care Workers
We are currently seeking casual staff who are available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekdays, and weekends. Scheduled shifts are awarded through an availability process, with additional opportunities available through short-notice call-ins.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting wage: $27.53 per hour
- 10.6% in lieu of vacation pay and banked stat
- Wage increases awarded every 2,000 hours worked
- Casual employees receive 5 paid legislative sick days per year after 90 days of continuous employment
Position Summary
As a Residential Care Worker, you will provide care and support to individuals in all aspects of daily living while promoting independence, community inclusion, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and daily living support to residents
- Assist with community inclusion activities and in-house programming
- Foster positive communication and collaborative relationships with residents, families, coworkers, and other stakeholders
- Work effectively as part of a supportive team
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals
- Accompany residents to community activities such as shopping, swimming, skating, movies, appointments, and other recreational opportunities
Qualifications
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- Education and/or experience in health care, human services, or community support is considered an asset, but is not required
- Valid First Aid Level 1 Certificate
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (paid by the employer)
- Recent TB test (within the past two years)
- Hepatitis B immunization or signed waiver
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada
