Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Painter and Decorator to bring vibrant, high-quality finishes to a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Duties
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, wallpapers, and other decorative finishes using hand tools and power tools with precision and care.
- Read blueprints and schematics to accurately interpret project specifications and design details.
- Perform restoration work on existing surfaces, matching colors and textures for seamless repairs.
- Use rigging techniques to access hard-to-reach areas safely while working on large or complex structures.
- Operate a variety of hand tools (brushes, rollers) and power tools (spray guns, drills) efficiently to complete projects on time.
- Collaborate with clients and team members to ensure clear communication about project scope, progress, and any adjustments needed.
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly disposing of waste materials and organizing tools after each project.
Experience
- Proven construction experience with a focus on painting, decorating, or restoration projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction painting techniques across residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Hands-on experience with caulking, sanding, priming, and finishing surfaces for long-lasting results.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers; as well as power tools including spray guns and drills.
- Experience in working with schematics for equipment setup or repair processes is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with clients and team members.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently across multiple projects while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to rigging, scaffolding, and the use of power tools is essential for a safe working environment.
