- · Possess a current National Lifeguard (NLS) Certificate
- · Current Standard First Aid Certificate
- · Water Safety Instructor Certification is considered an asset
- · Must be safety conscious and dependable
- · Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- · Lifeguard experience is considered an asset
- · Ability to stand for long periods of time
- · Ability to follow verbal and written direction
The Lifeguard is responsible for actively supervising children participating in camp swim activities and providing continuous surveillance of the pool area to ensure a safe environment. Duties include enforcing pool rules and safety regulations, responding calmly and effectively to emergencies, administering first aid when required, and promoting safe behaviour in and around the pool. The successful candidate will interact positively with children while maintaining cleanliness and organization within the pool area. Additional responsibilities include completing safety checks, reporting maintenance or safety concerns, documenting incidents when necessary, and supporting a fun and welcoming camp experience.
