As we continue to grow and strengthen our impact, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Director of Development & Donor Engagement to help tell our story, inspire generosity, and build the relationships that make our work possible.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director, Development & Donor Engagement will lead Villa Rosa's fundraising efforts and donor engagement activities.
Working closely with donors, community leaders, foundations, corporations, volunteers, and our Board of Directors, you will help secure the resources needed to support our mission while creating meaningful opportunities for people to invest in the future of the families we serve.
You will be responsible for growing and stewarding relationships that lead to support through major gifts, grants, corporate partnerships, annual giving, legacy gifts, and special events.
You will also help share the stories of Villa Rosa through donor communications and social media, ensuring supporters understand the difference their generosity makes.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Building Relationships That Matter
- Develop and nurture meaningful relationships with donors, community leaders, corporations, foundations and funding partners.
- Identify new opportunities for philanthropic support.
- Inspire donors to become long-term partners in Villa Rosa's mission.
- Create thoughtful stewardship and recognition opportunities that celebrate donor impact.
Growing Fundraising Revenue
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
- Secure support through major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorship, annual giving, and legacy gifts.
- Build a strong pipeline of future donors and supporters.
- Work with the Executive Director and Board Fundraising Committee to advance fundraising priorities.
- Lead one signature fundraising event annually.
Sharing Villa Rosa's Story
- Serve as staff lead for the Fundraising Committee.
- Support volunteers and Board members in donor engagement activities.
- Provide regular fundraising updates and recommendations to leadership.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You are someone who genuinely enjoys building relationships and connecting people to causes they care about.
You understand that successful fundraising starts with trust, authentic engagement, and meaningful conversations.
You bring:
- Post-secondary education in fundraising, business, communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- At least five years of progressive fundraising experience.
- A demonstrated record of success securing major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and donor support.
- Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
- Experience working with donors, volunteers, Boards, and community partners.
- Strong writing and storytelling abilities.
- Experience managing social media and donor communications.
- A passion for helping families thrive.
CFRE designation is considered an asset.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In this role. you will help build a sustainable fundraising program capable of generating three to four times your annual compensation with the first 18 months through a balanced mix of major gifts, grants, sponsorships, donations, legacy giving, and special events.
More importantly, you will help ensure Villa Rosa has the resources needed to continue supporting mothers, babies, and families for years to come.
