Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team in the plastic industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining precision tools, dies, and molds used in production processes. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CAD software, and experience with CNC machining to ensure high-quality tooling that meets strict specifications. The successful applicant will play a critical role in optimizing manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop tooling, dies, and molds using CAD software such as SolidWorks and CAD programs.
- Program CNC machines including CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, and other machining equipment to produce precise components.
- Operate hand tools and welding equipment to assemble, modify, or repair tooling as needed.
- Interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate fabrication of parts.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform machining operations with CNC programming expertise to produce complex parts with tight tolerances.
- Conduct troubleshooting and maintenance on existing tooling to improve performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize tool design for efficiency and durability.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role within the manufacturing or plastic industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and general CAD design principles.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming and operation of CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, and related equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on skills using hand tools, welding equipment, calipers, and other precision measurement tools.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately.
- Solid understanding of machining processes, manufacturing principles, and material properties relevant to plastics production.
- Excellent math skills for precise measurements and calculations involved in tool design.
- Knowledge of assembly techniques, welding procedures, and safety protocols in a manufacturing environment is preferred. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced Tool and Die Makers passionate about precision engineering within the plastic manufacturing industry.
