Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Spray Painter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying high-quality paint finishes to various components and products, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal. This role requires mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and experience working within a manufacturing environment. The Spray Painter plays a vital role in maintaining product standards and supporting efficient production processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure proper paint adhesion
- Operate spray painting equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to safety protocols
- Mix paints and coatings according to specifications, utilizing basic math skills for accurate measurements
- Apply paint coatings evenly across different parts using spray guns and other application tools
- Inspect finished work for quality, consistency, and finish standards, making necessary touch-ups
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment to promote safety and efficiency
- Assist with assembly, machining, or other manufacturing tasks as needed to support production goals
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and minimize waste
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in using hand tools, power tools, welding, and machining equipment
- Familiarity with crane and forklift operation is a plus for handling heavy components safely
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly techniques
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for mixing paints and measuring materials accurately
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Experience with welding or related mechanical skills is desirable but not mandatory
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality control throughout the painting process
