Job Title: Intermediate Accountant

Salary: $70,000-$75,000/year

Our client in
York Region, ON is actively looking for an
Intermediate Accountant to join their team.
Position Description:
- Prepare year-end working paper files for a portfolio of commercial entities, including corporations and joint ventures
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare adjusting journal entries
- Draft financial statements in accordance with applicable standards
- Execute year-end closing processes and ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data
- Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as require
Skills & Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong experience with working paper preparation, including:
- Trial balances
- Adjusting journal entries
- Account reconciliations (e.g., bank, accounts receivable, and other balance sheet accounts)
- Depreciation and amortization schedules
- Tax payable calculations
- Supporting documentation for account balances
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel
- Progress toward or completion of a recognized accounting designation is considered an asset
- Experience in real estate is an asset
