Knowledge, Experience, Qualifications & Skills:
- Completion of secondary school
- Certification as a heavy equipment mechanic
- Proven work experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic
- Understanding of computer testing technologies
- Ability to lift heavy machinery
- Fluent in English and French an asset
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Receive work orders for equipment
- Inspecting trucks, cranes and other heavy equipment for proper performance
- Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment
- Adjusting equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools
- Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles
- Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like winches, blades and booms
- Performing major repair work when necessary
- Consulting with other mechanics if required
- Reporting damaged for faulty equipment to management
- Work in a safe manner by following all Ontario Health and Safety Regulations
- Perform other essential duties as required
Job Type & Salary: Full-time, Permanent. Salary Range – 70,000 – 85,000 and will commensurate with
qualifications and experiences
