We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Intermediate Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting functions of our client's administrative team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role will assist with financial reporting, account analysis, inventory costing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Process and analyze freight, duty, and brokerage invoices to ensure accurate invoicing and inventory costing
- Maintain landed cost forecasts for inventory purchases and communicate changes to management
- Prepare account analysis, working papers, and schedules to support financial reporting
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, interim, and year-end reporting requirements
- Build, maintain, and update Excel reporting models and/or Business Objects reports
- Support audit preparation and documentation requirements
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and maintain proper documentation
- Participate in special projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of related accounting experience
- College diploma, university degree, or equivalent experience in accounting or finance
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Experience with SAP, AS400, or other ERP/accounting systems considered an asset
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- CPA designation in progress considered an asset
- Bilingual French considered an asset, but not required
