Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Helper to support our culinary team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food service and eager to gain hands-on experience in food preparation and kitchen operations. The Kitchen Helper will assist with meal preparation, food handling, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen space to ensure smooth daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic meal preparation and food assembly under the supervision of chefs or kitchen staff
- Support food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met
- Help with cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations
- Prepare ingredients such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning vegetables or other items
- Support serving staff by delivering prepared dishes to appropriate stations or tables as needed
- Maintain stock levels of supplies and notify management of inventory needs
- Follow all food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen area
- Assist in organizing storage areas for ingredients and supplies to promote efficiency
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and meal preparation is a plus
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting moderate weights (up to 25 pounds)
- Positive attitude, reliability, and good communication skills
