Gitxsan Safety Services (GSS), an award-winning, COR certified provider of security, emergency medical and traffic control and shuttle services. We are a proudly First Nations business offering high quality safety services to numerous private and public sector businesses throughout western Canada.
We're looking for a dedicated and reliable Class 4 Shuttle Driver to join our team in Hazelton, BC. In this safety sensitive role, you'll be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting both people and/or goods to various destinations.
- Operate Class 4 vehicles safely and courteously, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport passengers comfortably and punctually, ensuring a positive experience.
- Load, transport, and unload various goods and packages with care, ensuring their timely delivery.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery records, and other required documentation.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all passengers and clients.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including those with special needs, when required.
- Keep the shuttle vehicle clean and tidy, both inside and out.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and clients.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, especially those related to transporting goods and passengers.
- Valid Class 4 driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
- Proven experience operating shuttle or similar commercial vehicles.
- Able to pass drug & alcohol testing
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Excellent defensive driving skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages or goods as required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Punctual, reliable, and highly responsible.
- Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evenings or weekends, depending on operational needs.
- Wages: starting at $22/hour; following BC Employment Standards Act all overtime is paid at time and half or double time in accordance with the Act.
- Hours of work: usually 12 hours per day, contracts vary and days within deployments may have variability. Deployments are up to 21 days and can be extended if there are standby days and the employee agrees.
