Labourer – Night Shift
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Shift Time: 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Wage: $22 - $24/ hour
Summary
We are a manufacturing firm in Edmonton seeking a full-time permanent Labourer to join our night shift team in the Production Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting production operations through material handling, equipment preparation, product movement, and general labour duties. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, physically capable, and works well in a team environment. Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial experience is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily production activities within the galvanizing department.
- Load, unload, move, and stage materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, carts, and other material handling equipment.
- Prepare steel products for galvanizing by cleaning, sorting, and organizing materials.
- Hang and remove steel components from racks and fixtures safely and efficiently.
- Assist operators with production processes and workflow requirements.
- Operate manual and semi-automatic production equipment as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring housekeeping standards are met.
- Inspect materials for visible defects and report concerns to supervisors.
- Track and record production information accurately.
- Support shipping and receiving activities, including order preparation and material staging.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as required.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and manufacturing standards.
- Safely use hand tools and other equipment required for daily tasks.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Assist with equipment setup, maintenance preparation, and general shop duties.
- Perform other labour and production support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, or construction experience is an asset.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset.
