Durum Services Inc. is a multi-faceted company servicing clients in the utility and construction industry. Durum is currently seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and energetic person to fill the position of 20 Ton Tandem Dump and Tag Truck Driver in the Amherst area. This is a full-time seasonal position with an estimated hours 50 plus per week.
Qualifications & Skills
- MUST have a valid Class 1 or 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement and the ability to drive standard transmission trucks.
- MUST have a clean drivers abstract.
- MUST have 2 years experience operating a tandem dump truck.
- Tractor trailer float and/or tandem tag trailer experience would be considered an asset.
- Condition 15 endorsement would be considered an asset.
- Must have a strong industry knowledge of proper loading and securement techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to safety.
- Availability to work flexible and extended hours if required.
- Capable of performing physically demanding work at times.
- Heavy equipment operating experience would be considered an asset.
- Valid First Aid, CPR, and WHMIS would be an asset.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct and document daily pre-trip, in-route, and post trip inspections.
- Promptly report any mechanical issues to direct supervisor and/or mechanic for repair.
- Complete all required paperwork - drivers logbook, inspection, trip, and maintenance reports.
- Always operate the truck in safe, secure, and responsible manner.
- Keep truck and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
- Weekly greasing and washing of truck is required.
- Preform routine preventative maintenance as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
