Job Overview
We are seeking 2 apprentice Electricians to join our team for 2 upcoming jobs in Kelowna and Vernon that will be approximately 6-7 weeks long in total. Experience in commercial lighting will be given preference. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, experience with residential and commercial environments, and have experience with commercial lighting, ballasts, lighting upgrades, and experience with working alone.
This position will have hours to be determined but flexibility is important as timing over the job(s) will likely change depending on the area being serviced.
Duties
- Lighting upgrade
- Read and interpret schematics, and technical diagrams to execute electrical installations and repairs accurately.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical lighting in commercial settings, including wiring, ballasts, and LED upgrades.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely to perform electrical work on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Conduct inspections of electrical components to identify issues and perform necessary repairs or upgrades.
- Collaborate with construction teams and other trades to ensure timely project completion.
- Follow all safety protocols related to electrical work, including handling high-voltage systems when necessary
Experience
- Proven experience is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Previous lighting experience will be given preference.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high safety standards.
- Relevant certifications or licenses related to electrical work are advantageous.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 weeks
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
