McLeod Earthworks Ltd. is is an equal opportunity employer, committed to a diverse workforce. We are looking to hire an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic for our commercial earthworks operations. Regular, overtime, and vacation time is paid bi-weekly.
Responsibilities
- Ensures all Workplace Safety, Environmental and National Safety Code Policies and Regulations are being adhered to.
- Read diagrams/schematics and manufacturers repair manuals for work procedures.
- Inspect and examine vehicles and equipment.
- Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and equipment.
- Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair including computer connection/diagnosis with machine to identify fault codes.
- Provides guidance and instruction to less experienced, or apprentice maintenance personnel.
- Performing hands on maintenance and repairs of all equipment.
- Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic troubles.
- Making repairs according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Suggest positive changes to policy and procedures as required.
- Initiative, diligence and reliability.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Other duties as required.
Skills Required
- 3+ years of industry experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must Comply with the company's drug & alcohol program, including testing requirement.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge.
- Physically fit, heavy lifting required.
- Journeyman Certificate (Red Seal) Heavy Equipment Technician.
- Dual tickets will be considered an asset.
- CVIP certification would be an asset or willing to obtain.
- Must be willing to drive to Cochrane each day for work and have a reliable vehicle to get to work everyday
