Drill Rig Operator – Job Description
The Driller is responsible for the coordination of effective on-site planning and drilling activities. This includes meeting production targets and quality standards. Responsibilities will include optimization of day to day activities and problem solving with regards to unexpected events. The work must be completed with attention to safety, policies and procedures, as well as the identification and correction of health and safety issues. Other responsibilities include troubleshooting machine basic performance, making adjustments and calling for additional resources as required.
Job Duties
- Operate large diameter drill rigs
- Under the guidance of the company leadership the role will coordinate onsite planning, drilling and completion.
- Identify and provide information the company about potential environmental and safety problems.
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other trades.
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Provide information for production plans to ensure that production objectives are met.
- Prepare the required materials and supplies.
- Adhere to all workplace safety policies, compliances and regulations
- Use all required safety equipment, e.g. Steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses / goggles, etc.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum [xx] years of experience in shoring and pile drilling.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Strong work ethic including maintaining good attendance and punctuality
- Able to work as a functioning member of a team
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment
- Experience with routine maintenance operations
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to work well under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
Work Conditions
- Must be able to push, pull and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 50 pounds.
- Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc Hazards associated with the trade
- May be required to work in confined spaces and in unfavourable weather conditions.
- Overtime as required
- Travel may be required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38.00-$45.00 per hour
