MacEwan University is seeking a Team Lead, Admissions for a full-time two-year term opportunity with the Office of the University Registrar.

Reporting to the Manager, Admissions Operations, you will lead a team of Admission Evaluation Specialists responsible for the assessment and processing of undergraduate admissions and transfer credit applications for both domestic and international applicants. As a trusted leader and mentor, you will guide day-to-day operations, support staff development, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
As part of the Admissions, Recruitment and Transfer extended leadership team, you will work closely with colleagues across the university to enhance admissions processes, meet enrolment targets, and deliver a seamless, student-centred applicant experience. Operations Planning & Improvement

Leading admissions and transfer credit operations for domestic and international applicant portfolios, ensuring efficient workflow management, policy compliance, and alignment with enrolment objectives;

Resolving complex admissions issues, evaluate policy exceptions, and provide operational leadership on high-impact or precedent-setting cases;

Collaborating across departments to enhance admissions policies, procedures, and student service delivery through evidence-based continuous improvement; and,
-
Contributing to strategic planning, operational reporting, and budget initiatives through data analysis, process optimization, quality assurance, system enhancements, and participation in strategic projects and change initiatives.
Team Leadership & Supervision

Supervising, coaching, and supporting a team of Admissions Evaluation Specialists, managing workload distribution, performance, training, and professional development;

Serving as the primary escalation point for operational and staff issues, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and service-oriented team culture;

Supporting recruitment, onboarding, workforce engagement, and employee relations activities in partnership with leadership and Human Resources; and
-
Maintaining expertise in admissions, transfer credit, and enrolment management trends to inform best practices and organizational effectiveness.
You will have:

Ability to understand, interpret, and apply University policies and procedures, admission requirements, and strategic enrolment management objectives and goals;

Advanced proficiency with student information systems, business intelligence tools, Microsoft 365 applications, SharePoint, and other web-based technologies;

Strong analytical skills, including collecting and interpreting data to support evidence-based decisions, process evaluation, and continuous improvement; and
-
Comprehensive knowledge of admissions practices, enrolment management, educational systems (Canadian and international), and the application of institutional policies and procedures, with a commitment to service excellence.

A minimum of a post-secondary degree in Education, Business, Administration, or a related field;

A minimum of 4 years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility, including the supervision of staff in a University Registrar's office;

Experience evaluating and processing Canadian/domestic and international post-secondary admissions and transfer credit;

Working knowledge of PeopleSoft - Campus Solutions or similar student information and admissions evaluation system is preferred;

Experience with process improvement, change management, and quality assurance approaches, and supervising staff in a union environment are considered strong assets;

Experience with providing direction and with planning, organizing, delegating, and evaluating work in collaboration with others; and,
