Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional guest services and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently in particular late-night service. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred to deliver outstanding customer service and support smooth restaurant operations. Position pays hourly plus a tip-out.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
- Manage reservations and waitlists using POS systems such as Open Table or similar platforms
- Manage restaurant capacity limits on a busy Friday and Saturday night.
- Checking for ID at the door if necessary.
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and provide accurate information about the restaurant
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and feedback courteously
- Assist in maintaining a welcoming environment that promotes guest satisfaction
- Support other front-of-house duties as needed to ensure seamless restaurant operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in guest services, or hospitality roles preferred
- Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette
- Familiarity with POS systems, especially Open Table, is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly demeanor while upholding our capacity and legal age requirements
- Previous restaurant or hotel experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to work evenings on Friday and Saturday nights
