Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Food Expeditor to join our dynamic culinary team. The Food Expeditor plays a vital role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of food safety and hospitality standards. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in food service, restaurant operations, or hospitality environments, with a focus on guest satisfaction and efficient workflow.
Duties
- Coordinate between the kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Verify accuracy of orders before they are served to guests, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Assist in organizing and prioritizing food preparation and plating to optimize service flow
- Communicate effectively with cooks, servers, and management regarding order status and special requests
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety and sanitation regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of the expediting station and surrounding areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks when needed
- Monitor food temperatures and presentation to ensure consistency and quality during service
- Handle guest inquiries or concerns professionally, providing excellent customer service
Experience
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments preferred
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation standards (e.g., HACCP) is highly desirable
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms is a plus
- Background in serving, food preparation, cashiering, or barista roles can be advantageous
- Strong communication skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure are essential
- Familiarity with hotel guest services or meal preparation roles enhances suitability for this position
- Previous experience with food handling, cooking, or catering contributes to success in this role
